If you know me well enough, you probably know of my struggle to make it through February with all of myself still intact. (If you don’t know me— hello, thanks for being here. I emotionally crawl my way through February every year, and it’s become unbearable.)
I work my ass off to set myself up for success but no matter what intention I set, no matter how I try to avoid it, February pulls me down into despair. It’s something I’ve been working on for years, but the fight persists.
The month bites and tears at me, forcing me to do deep inner work just before the dawn of the Spring season. At this point, the pattern is indisputable, so much so that I even tapped into my gifted friend and astrologer Reena about what the hell is going on in my chart that may be causing this.
I felt an instant sense of relief when she affirmed the very real possibility of my suspicion and where in my chart we could look closer to unveil some answers. I’ll leave out the personal details (Cancer rising, Aquarius Moon, 8th house…for those curious) but I will tell you the most important part: she ended with “…but it does always lead to transformation.”
So here we are, the truth of which is at the root of all struggle—growth. When we are trapped in cycles of suffering, it is important to realign ourselves with nature and the laws of the universe. May I remind you that the universe doesn’t care about you being happy; it cares about your growth.
Just as nature grows, transforms, and evolves, we are to find deeper fulfillment and connection through the obstacles we face.
As we move into March, it is only fitting that my reflections are rooted in finding ways to surrender to the process and live in more harmony with ourselves and others. I hope they guide you toward clarity, intention, and forward movement.
